Monmouth County Assemblywoman Amy Handlin Endorses Scott Sipprelle for Congress
Impressed by Sipprelle’s positive message and grasp of the key issues
Princeton, March 2, 2010 – Citing his positive, optimistic message and solid grasp of key issues important to the country and the state, State Assemblywoman Amy Handlin (R-13) today publicly endorsed Scott Sipprelle’s bid to win the Republican nomination and take on Rush Holt this November.
“Scott Sipprelle is the right candidate at the right time to take on and defeat Rush Holt, and I am proud to step forward and announce my public support for his candidacy,” said Handlin, a popular former Monmouth County Freeholder and Middletown Deputy Mayor. “The positive tone of Scott’s campaign and his willingness to outline detailed solutions relating to earmarks and wasteful government spending resonated with me. I am also pleased to see his commitment to term limits for the US Congress. His grasp of the issues really impressed me and I am confident it will do the same with voters seeking a new direction for our country this November.”
Sipprelle called the endorsement “huge” and pledged to continue his outreach into Monmouth County in the hopes of receiving further support in the weeks ahead.
“Assemblywoman Handlin has won election after election in Monmouth County by carving out a reputation as a no-nonsense, good-government reformer who is willing to fight for what she believes in,” said Sipprelle. “I am truly honored by her endorsement and look forward to working closely with her to help clean up the mess Jon Corzine left in New Jersey and the mess Nancy Pelosi is leaving in Washington, DC.”
